MALACCA: Traders who are interested to operate at the wholesale wet market in Batu Berendam are advised to act fast and register before Feb 3.
The management said in a statement recently that lots were still available for bumiputera and non-bumiputera applicants to sell fish, vegetables, poultry and others.
Some of the lots were still not taken and some traders still have outstanding rent owed to the Hang Tuah Jaya Municipal Council, the previous management.
Earlier, the wet market was named Pasar Borong MPHTJ and its food court had been privatised and was now owned by the Malacca Vegetable Dealers Association, Malacca Municipal Market Traders’ Society and SIS Resources (M) Sdn Bhd.
Subsequently, MFC Food City Sdn Bhd was formed to manage the wet market and food court, from Feb 1.
Those who are interested to register, can do so at MFC Food City’s office near the market’s main entrance before noon on Feb 3 by bringing a photocopy of their MyKad and a passport-size photo.
The office opens from 8am to 11am and 2pm to 5pm. For details, call 06-336 8819 or 013-399 7313.
